Digitization Cube (175A) (Digital Humanities Lab) Capacity: 1

Digitization Cube (175A)

Description

Have a physical archive that you want to make digital? Looking to do text mining on newspapers you only have on microfiche? Ready to experiment with OCR or HTR, but need to scan your documents first? Talk to us about starting a Digitization project and using our equipment!

The DHLab supports digitization for the purpose of digital projects such as: creating textual corpora, digital images, digital text scans, databases, or similar projects. To that end, the DHLab offers specialized equipment—a flatbed scanner, a Zeutschel book scanner, and a Mekel microfilm scanner—for Yale scholars to transform physical materials into digitally-actionable research objects.  Equipment in the DHLab is designated as "self-service"; after initial training, users perform the digitization themselves.
