The Lewis Walpole Library is a research center for eighteenth-century studies and an essential resource for the study of English writer, historian, collector, and antiquarian Horace Walpole. The library’s special collections touch on virtually all aspects of eighteenth-century British life and culture, ranging from art, literature, the theatre, society and fashion, to politics, diplomacy, economics, and the military, to travel and the Grand Tour. Its extensive collection of prints and drawings constitutes one of the most important resources worldwide for the study of British visual satire of the long eighteenth century.
