The Beinecke Library reading room is available to current Yale students, faculty, and staff whose individual research requires consulting Beinecke materials and who have been approved to return to campus. While we unfortunately cannot welcome other researchers to our reading room at this time, we invite you to access materials through Beinecke's Digital Collections as well as by requesting reproductions.
Researching at Beinecke currently requires two steps.
- Make your reading room appointment via this page.
- Place requests for materials through Orbis or Archives at Yale.
Both steps need to happen at least two business days prior to visiting.
Reservations require a Yale CAS login and please bring your Yale ID with you to your appointment.
Students who have questions about their campus access should write to email@example.com or check the Yale Hub. Faculty and staff with questions about campus access should check with their department.
The restrooms are open onsite, but the lounge is closed to researchers.
