SUMMARY:🏆 Blueprint in Action: Protocol Writing Lab for Systematic & Scoping Reviews
DESCRIPTION:Description:\nYou’ve learned the what and why of systematic
and scoping review protocols\, now it’s time to roll up your sleeves and
work on the how.\nIn this hands-on\, collaborative session\, participants
will bring their review ideas and start drafting (or refining) their own
protocols in real time\, with guidance and feedback from the instructor and
peers. We’ll work through the key sections of a protocol step-by-step\,
troubleshoot common challenges\, and answer your specific questions about
 study design\, inclusion criteria\, and registry requirements.\nWe’ll
also run preliminary searches together to check whether your question has
already been answered and follow up with precise\, targeted searches to
find “validating articles” that help confirm feasibility.\n\nBy the
end\, you’ll have a solid start or significant progress on a protocol you
can continue developing toward PROSPERO\, OSF\, or journal
 submission.\n\nLearning Outcomes:\nBy the end of this workshop\,
participants will be able to:\n\n\n	\n	Apply the PRISMA-P checklist (or JBI
 equivalent) to guide protocol drafting.\n	\n	\n	Write a clear\, structured
research question using PICO or other relevant frameworks.\n	\n	\n	Define
and document inclusion/exclusion criteria in a reproducible
way.\n	\n	\n	Run a preliminary search to check if the research question has
already been addressed.\n	\n	\n	Run a precise search to locate validating
articles that support the novelty and feasibility of the
review.\n	\n	\n	Identify at least one suitable registry or journal for
protocol submission.\n	\n	\n	Provide and receive constructive feedback on
 protocol components from peers.\n	\n\n\nFormat:\n\n\n	\n	Brief recap (5
min) - Core elements of a protocol from the lecture.\n	\n	\n	Guidance for
targeted searches (5 min) - A short\, focused walkthrough on how to design
and run targeted searches that efficiently locate the most relevant
articles for validating your review question or find registered protocols
or reviews on your topic.\n	\n	\n	Guided work time (35 min) - Participants
work on their own protocol sections\, with the instructor circulating in
breakout rooms for questions and feedback.\n\n	\n \n Suggested
 milestones:\n\n \n \n Research question &
 rationale\n \n \n Eligibility criteria\n \n \n Preliminary
search to check for existing reviews\n \n \n Precise search for
 validating articles\n \n \n \n	\n	\n	\n	Peer feedback exchange (10 min)
 - Small group sharing and discussion of one section of each participant’s
 protocol.\n	\n	\n	Q&A & next steps (5 min) - Troubleshooting\, registry
advice\, and resources for continuing progress after the
 workshop.\n	\n\n\nPre-Workshop Preparation (Optional but
 Recommended):\n\n\n	\n	Come with a review idea or topic in mind.\n	\n	\n	If
you’ve started drafting a protocol\, bring your current
document.\n	\n	\n	Review the PRISMA-P checklist or JBI guidance before the
session.\n	\n	\n	Attend Blueprint for Evidence: Protocol Writing for
 Systematic & Scoping Reviews\n	\n\n\n \n\nIdeal for:\nResearchers\,
clinicians\, and students who have attended the Blueprint for Evidence
lecture and are ready to move from concepts to concrete progress on their
 own protocol.
