SUMMARY:Introduction to Python for Applied Statistics and Data Science
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThis workshop introduces the essential tools for 
 statistical and quantitative analysis in Python. Emphasis is placed on best 
 programming practices and foundational understanding. Participants will 
 learn to:\n\n Work with fundamental data structures (lists/arrays\, 
 matrices\, data frames)\n Set and manage a project’s working directory\n 
 Install and use key data-science libraries for manipulation and analysis\n 
 Create and manage virtual environments for dependency control\n Draw 
 inferences from real-world data and present findings to varied 
 audiences\n\nSchedule: \nOptional Tech Clinic (software installation & 
 setup): 8:45 – 10:15 a.m. (1.5 hours)\nCore Workshop: 10:30 a.m. – 
 12:30 p.m.\n\nPreparation:\nBring a laptop with Python 3 and Positron (or 
 another IDE) installed. If you need assistance\, attend the optional 
 8:45–10.15 a.m. tech clinic. \n\n\n	Download Python 3 (3.13 preferred) 
 from python.org or install the Anaconda distribution. \n	Install Positron 
 (or your preferred IDE).\n\n\nThis workshops is hands-on\; arriving with 
 the software already installed will let you dive straight into the material 
 at 10:30 a.m.\, but the tech clinic is available if you need setup help. 
 Note that new users to both Python and Positron are strongly encouraged to 
 attend both sessions.
