Genomic resources at Yale - overview of services provided by the Centers for Genomic Analysis (YCGA) and Research Computing (YCRC) In-Person

In this IN-PERSON and two-hour presentation, Francesc Lopez (Yale Center for Genome Analysis), and Rob Bjornson (Yale Center for Research Computing), will present an overview of genomic resources at Yale.  Francesc will explain the sequencing and bioinformatics services provided by YCGA, including Illumina and Single-cell sequencing.  He’ll describe the entire process from sample submission to data delivery and analysis services.  He’ll also introduce common file formats used in genomic data.

In the second half of the presentation, Rob Bjornson will provide an overview of the Yale Center for Research Computing, which provides the storage and compute resources used by YCGA and its clients.  He’ll introduce the center and the high performance computing clusters it operates and provide a basic overview of how to access the cluster, manage and transfer data, and submit compute jobs.
