Artist Book Hour

Artist Book Hour In-Person

Join us at Haas Arts Library for a conversation with artist Raffaella della Olga

The term "artist book" can be hard to define. Simply put, an artist book is an art object inspired by the form and/or function of a conventional book. Haas Arts Library has thousands of artist books in its special collections. During this lunchtime session, see a selection of books by artist Raffaella della Olga and hear directly from the artist about her process and work.

About the artist:
Having for more than a decade chosen to turn analog and work most exclusively  with typewriting machine, Raffaella della Olga has with this tool found a way to write and draw  her own path to abstraction. What starts as a concept (to be an « analog artist » in digital ages,  to find freedom through mechanical gestures) has rapidly turn into an infinite exploration and  expansion of the space of the page. Echoing her work with the typewriting machine, she  practice an art of deconstruction with pieces of printed fabrics  that she cuts into open and vibrant grids.

Audience: All members of the Yale community are welcome to attend.

Registration: Registration required.
