Music Library Tour and Workshop In-Person

Gilmore Music Library Tours and Workshops are open to interested students. The tour portion will include our spaces and collection areas, introductions to available staff, and an overview of services. The workshop portion will include strategies for searching for the best books, scores and recordings as well as library subscription databases for research, listening, and viewing, You will also receive an introduction to some of the many special collections relating to music at the Yale Library. These include rare books, scores, and periodicals, music archives and manuscripts, oral histories of American music, and historical sound recordings.

The Irving S. Gilmore Music Library is one of the world's most important music libraries, with a wealth of books, scores, recordings, periodicals, and videos for research and study, as well as rare and unique materials. 

Masks required during the tour and workshop. 

Registration: Registration required. You will receive a reminder email 1-hour before the event.

Registration limited to 24 per tour/workshop; each group will be divided in half for each portion.

Tours will begin at the entrance to the Gilmore Music Library, within Sterling Memorial Library.
