R Refresher In-Person / Online
This workshop combines the First Steps with R and Seconds Steps with R workshops into one providing a refresher for those who it has been a while since you used R or give a new user the basics of working with R.
This workshop will be be taught in-person and online. The session will be recorded and made avaialbe to registrants.
The workshop does not assume any experience with R, statistics, other programs for statistical analysis, or any programming experience at all. However, experience with any of these can make getting started in R easier.
The focus in this session is getting users working in R with data.
Topics
This workshop covers:
- making the most of the RStudio interface
- importing data (and exporting output)
- manipulating datasets (e.g., creating variables, recoding variables, subsetting datasets)
- basic data cleaning techniques
- basic data visualization
- overview of useful packages
Any student who participates in at least 3 library workshops during the fall 2022 semester will be eligible for a prize. Learn more about the Workshop Incentive Program.
