Beyond PubMed: Web of Science In-Person

Registration is required!

While PubMed contains the core set of biomedical journals, there is much, much more information available to you at Yale through library resources. This series will showcase both broad and discipline-specific research tools as well as tips and tricks for finding relevant information quickly.

This session will focus on Web of Science, a database containing more than 21,000 journals, conference proceedings, robust citation information, and more. In addition, you can search several other databases through the platform such as BIOSIS Citation Index, Zoological Record, and more. It is a great tool for interdisciplinary research.

  • Formulating your question using PICO for an effective search in Web of Science
  • Build a search using keywords
  • Incorporate the use of Boolean operators to connect your concepts
  • Learn to use specialized search syntax specific to this database (truncation, wildcards, NEAR, etc.)

Zoom invitation details will be sent to your registration email 48 hours prior to the class time.
