Summer workshop series: R coding bootcamp In-Person

Do you know some R basics, but have trouble knowing where to start when it comes to analyzing your own data?

Are you a seasoned pro when it comes to R, but are curious as to how others might approach problems differently?

Are you looking to sharpen your R skills over the summer?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this event is for you!

This is a bi-weekly event. Future dates are: July 9th, July 23rd, August 6th, and August 20th.

We are excited to introduce a new weekly series that will focus on hands-on approaches to data analysis using R. Each week, either the instructor or another group member will introduce a data set and a research question. As a group, we will work through the entire workflow to show how we can use data to answer a question or test a hypothesis. The specific topics, tests, and data techniques will vary weekly, but expect to cover:

  • Deciding on a statistical test that will appropriately answer a research question
  • Selecting appropriate packages
  • Manipulating data
  • Conducting and interpreting descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Visualizing data

It is recommended that you already have basic proficiency in R. If you are new to R, we recommend also registering to take our First and Second Steps with R workshops.
