Decolonizing Archives: "The Paradox of Filling the Gaps: The Under-Documented Within Archives". In-Person

"The Paradox of Filling the Gaps: The Under-Documented Within Archives" will feature a discussion with Lizeth Zepeda on under-documented communities within archives, including the undocumented, LGBTQ+ communities, and Spanish language materials in the Archive.

Lizeth Zepeda is a Senior Assistant Librarian at California State University at Monterey Bay. She was formally a Diversity Resident Librarian and Research Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee and an Outreach Archivist and Librarian at the Arizona Historical Society in Tucson, Arizona. Lizeth holds a Master of Library and Information Science with an emphasis in Archival Studies from the University of Arizona’s School of Information as a Knowledge River Scholar. She holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from California State University, Long Beach. Her research and archival interests include working with traditionally under-documented communities, outreach programming, Spanish-language materials, and queer(ing) archives.
