A Dramatic Reading of Chipotle cups from the Beinecke Library Collection. In-Person
In 2014, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. released a series of takeaway cups which featured original creative works by authors and comedians. Join us to learn about how these unusual objects made it into the Beinecke Library collection and then sit back and enjoy a dramatic reading of these “two-minute seductions” from the back of Chipotle Cups.
- “Two-minute cheer for the home team” by Barbara Kingsolver (as read by Melissa Grafe, Head of the Medical Historical Library)
- “Two minutes to run” by Neil Gaiman (as read by Christy Bailey-Tomecek, Project Archivist for the Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies)
- “Two-minute apocalypse” by Carlos Ruiz Zafon (as read by Rachel Sperling, Librarian for Environmental Studies)
- "Two-minute case for optimism" by Steven Pinker (as read by Kenya Flash, Librarian for Political Science, Global Affairs, and Government Information)
- "Two-minute note to the future" by George Saunders (as read by Emily Horning, Director of Undergraduate Programs, Bass Library)
- "Two-minutes about ghosts" by Amy Tan (as read by Laura Sider, Associate Director of Frontline Services, Bass Libary)
- "Recipe for the perfect fountain drink" by Bill Hader (as read by Kelly Blanchat, Undergraduate Teaching and Outreach Librarian)
- ...and more to be announced!
