Literature Reviews in the Physical Sciences In-Person
This is a 75-minute workshop for students doing background research (especially a literature/lit review) in physics, astrophysics, cosmology, and astronomy. It is designed to get you started using materials, especially online resources, to support your work.
Attendees will:
- Differentiate among types of reviews and which methodologies fit your research.
- Select the types of documents and research products that will be helpful during the lit review process.
- Perform advanced searches in the Web of Science, Scopus, and content-specific databases like INSPIRE and the Astrophysics Data System (ADS) to hone in on a topic.
- Export references as they go and learn the basics of organizing sources to make the writing process just a bit easier.
Audience: This workshop is open to anyone in the Yale community.
