Introduction to Advanced Google Scholar Techniques In-Person
Learn techniques for searching Google Scholar in 30 minutes! We will cover everything from ways to reduce irrelevant results to how to troubleshoot when Google says that you can't access a paper or book.
Recommended audience: Everyone
Learning outcomes:
- Participants will build effective search statements by using search operators such as author, domain, intitle, intext, filetype and by nesting operators.
- Participants will distinguish the limitations and usefulness of Google Scholar versus commercial databases.
- Participants will easily move between Google Scholar and the library catalog to troubleshoot Google's results.
This workshop will be held via Zoom. An email will be sent to you one hour before the workshop starts that contains the Zoom information. Please check your spam if you do not receive it. If you register under an hour before, please contact me for the Zoom link. This workshop will be 30 minutes long.
