This information session and demonstration overviews R, a programming language and environment for running statistical tests and creating advanced graphs. The lecture component will describe R, introduce its functionality, and point out sources for continued learning. Participants are encouraged to follow along with the demonstration, which will provide examples of the following R basics: creating variables, arithmetic in R, data import and export, vectors, data types in R, and dataframe basics.

No prior experience with R is needed, but please come to this session with R and RStudio installed on the machine you would like to use. If you need help with installation, email medicaldata@yale.edu.
