Literature Reviews in 60 Minutes In-Person

How do you start a literature review? What if you find way too much information? What if you find nothing at all? What do you do with all these articles? And how do you know when you’re done?

Join us to talk about your public health/biomedical literature review, from early planning to final proofreading. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll outline a lit review for your topic. You'll figure out what information you're looking for, plan how to organize it in the manuscript, pick useful bibliographic databases, and brainstorm search terms. We'll also discuss citation management, notetaking, and critical appraisal. By the end of the session, you’ll have a plan for your literature review and a list of new resources for reference management and project management. Most importantly, you’ll have confidence that you can get your next lit review done quickly and well.

Bring a device and have a project in mind, such as an article, term paper, presentation, or grant.
