SUMMARY:Intro to GIS: Mapping with ArcGIS
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will introduce basic concepts of geographic 
 information systems (GIS)\, including projection and coordinate systems\, 
 types of and best practices to manage spatial data. It will also include 
 hands-on training on how to start a GIS project using Esri’s ArcGIS for 
 Desktop\, transforming tabular into spatial data\, creating color-coded 
 maps\, and conducting basic spatial analysis to help you start with your 
 research.\n\nParticipants are encouraged to register to "Intermediate GIS: 
 ArcGIS" which is scheduled the day after this workshop. \n\nLOCATION: 17
