Library Shelving Facility Tour for Students (with transportation) In-Person
Have you ever wondered how your books arrive from the Library Shelving Facility (LSF) almost like clockwork? Join us for a guided tour of LSF in Hamden, CT to see for yourself how so many books are stored for on-demand retrieval in the 8,000 square foot structure that houses 63,810 square feet of shelving.
Students participating in the Discover Yale Library passport will receive a Beinecke Library passport stamp on this tour.
Attendees will board a shuttle in front of the Yale Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning (301 York St., New Haven) at 1:00pm and arrive at LSF around 1:15pm. To return, attendees will board the shuttle at 2:00pm, arriving back to New Haven at 301 York St. around 2:15pm. A library staff member will be at the York St. entrance at 12:45.
Registration: Required; bring your Yale ID.
