Don't ghost your research profiles! Claim them, connect your publications, and make sure your work isn't haunting the web unresolved. In this hands-on workshop, we'll cover best practices and give you time to set up or update your own profiles on major platforms.
Attendees will learn how to:

Set up or claim and optimize profiles on ORCID, the Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar

Approach looking at author terms that impact when and how you approach sharing the full text of your papers (this is not legal advice!)
About Academic Profiles
Academic profile platforms include ORCID, SciENcv, Google Scholar, and abstract databases such as Web of Science and Scopus. It can also include Academia.edu or ResearchGate, which are academic social media sites geared around papers. Many journals and funders now require an ORCID and (sometimes!) a SciENcv to manage researchers’ identities, and databases will automatically create profiles for authors in their systems — which could contain errors until they’re claimed and corrected by you!
Audience
Researchers in the sciences and social sciences who have published at least one paper, including graduate students, postdocs, and faculty or research scientists at any career stage. Undergraduates who have gotten an early start on publishing academic papers are also welcome.
