Introduction to Statistical Programming in R In-Person
Learn R by using it to answer a real statistical question. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll work through a complete analysis while learning the core programming concepts and practices needed to continue exploring R independently.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Navigate R in Positron or RStudio and run code from a script
- Work with objects, functions, packages, and data frames
- Import, inspect, and prepare real-world data
- Calculate descriptive statistics and create visualizations
- Conduct and interpret an introductory statistical test
- Organize a reproducible project and communicate results
Preparation
- Bring a laptop with R and Positron installed.
- If you need installation help, attend on of two StatLab Tech Support Sessions on September 15 and 16.
- Note that while no coding experience is required, this workshop will work on the assumption that R and Positron are readily available. If you need support and you are unable to make a Tech Support session, please contact us at statlab@yale.edu.
