SUMMARY:Demystifying the Literature Review (For Scientists!)
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to locate and organize papers for your science
 research papers\, projects\, and fellowship applications.\n\nAttendees will
learn:\n\n\n	How to go from a few key papers to a well-balanced research
library\n	Strategies to find relevant literature\n	Resources that
professional scientists use\n	How citation management software can help you
organize your work\n\n\nWe will include a discussion of both classic
databases and AI-enhanced literature searching tools.\n\nWhat is a
literature review?\n\nA literature review is a narrative and synthesis
about a set of sources. They are often required in theses and published
papers to provide an analysis of sources/authors to demonstrate how your
research fits within a larger academic conversation. While not the same as
 a systematic review\, scoping review\, comprehensive review\, or
meta-analysis\, those research methodologies draw from essential literature
review skills\, so this workshop is still a great place to start. This
workshop is also a great place to start for someone who wants to learn
foundational skills so they can make sense of and audit output from newer
research tools such as Consensus or Elicit.\n\nAudience: Undergraduate and
graduate students in the sciences.\n\nWorkshop incentive program: Any
student who attends at least 3 library workshops this semeter will be
eligible to receive a FREE Yale Library tote bag. Learn more about this
 program here.
