Want to take better selfies?

Join us for a virtual 30-minute session covering how to be a more informed creator and consumer of social media images, followed by a discussion on where your images go once they’re published online. This session is great for anyone interested in technology, photography, and copyright/law.

Attendees will learn how to:

• Describe key visual and technical elements that contribute to more effective and engaging selfies on social media.

• Explain what happens to your images after you post them online, including basic concepts of data storage, sharing, and platform policies.

• Discuss legal and ethical considerations related to creating and using social media images, including copyright, ownership, and consent.

Audience: All members of the Yale community are welcome to attend.

Registration: Registration required. You will receive a reminder email 1-hour before the event with the link to the Zoom room. If you register less than 1-hour before the event starts, email tess.colwell@yale.edu for the Zoom link.
