Want to take better selfies?

Join us for a virtual 30-minute session covering how to be a more informed creator and consumer of social media images, followed by a discussion on where your images go once they’re published online. This session is great for anyone interested in technology, photography, and copyright/law.

Attendees will learn how to:

1. Describe key visual and technical elements that contribute to more effective and engaging selfies on social media.

2. Explain what happens to your images after you post them online, including basic concepts of data storage, sharing, and platform policies.

3. Discuss legal and ethical considerations related to creating and using social media images, including copyright, ownership, and consent.

Audience: All members of the Yale community are welcome to attend.

Registration: Registration required. You will receive a reminder email 1-hour before the event with the link to the Zoom room. If you register less than 1-hour before the event starts, email tess.colwell@yale.edu for the Zoom link.
