Artist Book Hour: Biographies

Artist Book Hour: Biographies  In-Person

Join us to explore the sometimes playful and unconventional approaches book artists take when creating and presenting biographically (and autobiographically) leaning narratives. Our guest curators at this event are Bill Landis, Teaching and Research Services Librarian at Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, and Jessica Pigza, Associate Director, Arts Library Special Collections.

Curious about artists' books? They are, simply put, a creative medium in which the conventional materials and approaches of book production—for instance paper and ink, graphically compelling combinations of illustration and text, and structures that invite exploration—are used and sometimes subverted to create tangible, interactive, surprising works of art. Haas Arts Library has thousands of artist books, many in its special collections, and the Artist Book Hour event series invites you to engage directly with these art objects.
