Artist Book Hour: Color Theory

Artist Book Hour: Color Theory In-Person
How have book artists been inspired by color theory? This event’s selection of materials from Haas Arts Library Special Collections will showcase books that incorporate color as a central element of the work. Our guest curator at this event will be Jae Rossman, associate director for special collections instruction and research services at the Beinecke Library.
The program will begin with remarks by our guest curator. This is an informal event, however, and you are welcome to drop in anytime during the hour.
Curious about artists' books? They are, simply put, a creative medium in which the conventional materials and approaches of book production—for instance paper and ink, graphically compelling combinations of illustration and text, and structures that invite exploration—are used and sometimes subverted to create tangible, interactive, surprising works of art. Haas Arts Library has thousands of artist books, many in its special collections, and the Artist Book Hour event series invites you to engage directly with these art objects.
Audience: All members of the Yale community are welcome to attend.
