From Question to Action: Finding Evidence to Drive Quality Improvement Online
Transform your quality improvement (QI) questions into actionable, evidence-based strategies. This session will guide participants through the process of identifying, searching for, and evaluating the best available evidence to support QI initiatives. Topics covered will include:
- Formulating clear and focused clinical questions tailored to QI projects.
- Developing efficient search strategies using frameworks like PICO (Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) and PS (Problem, Solution).
- Searching key resources such as Healthcare Administration Database, Ovid Embase, and the TRIP database to find relevant evidence.
- Identifying and leveraging QI-specific resources, including benchmarking data and case studies.
- Organizing and assessing search results to inform decision-making and drive meaningful improvements.
This session is ideal for anyone engaged in QI work—clinicians, residents, nurses, administrators, and allied health professionals—who want to strengthen their ability to find and apply evidence effectively.
