Rosemary K. J. Davis, Head of Archival Accessioning, Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library
Rosemary will present the work of the National Best Practices for Archival Accessioning Working Group (2021-2024), which recently submitted its final draft to the Standards Committee for the Society of American Archivists. The working group held a pre-conference symposium about the best practices at the Society of American Archivists Annual meeting, August 2024.
Kate Nyhan, Research and Education Librarian, Cushing/Whitney Medical Library
Kate will present her lighting talk “Getting started on Mastodon: For users and for researchers” which was presented at the New England Chapter of the Association for Information Science and Technology (NEASIST) Annual Conference, March 2024.
Nicholas Mignanelli, Assistant Director for Reference, Lillian Goldman Law Library
Nicholas will present on his article, “The Legal Tech Bro Blues: Generative AI, Legal Indeterminacy, and the Future of Legal Research and Writing” published in the Georgetown Law Technology Review, May 2024.
Kelly Blanchat, Instruction Librarian, Bass Library
Kelly will present on her book chapter “Facilitate Then Curate: Highlighting Student & BIPOC Voices in the Library Collection with the Reading Resilience Project” in Creating an Inclusive Library: Approaches for Increasing Outreach, Engagement, and Use with BIPOC Students published by ACRL Press, September 2024. The chapter provides libraries with a model to facilitate input from the user community to increase diversity in their collection, built on the case study of the Reading Resilience Project at Bass Library.
