Bioinformatics Thursdays - Using GEO2R to quickly reanalyze public expression datasets: RNA-seq and microarrays In-Person
In person, registration required
Gene Expression Omnibus data repository stores curated gene expression datasets. Reanalyzing these are valuable when narrowing hypothesis or validating research results. Embedded in this repository, GEO2R is an online tool that allows users to perform differential analysis and quickly generate publication-ready visualizations. In this session, we will reanalyze a GEO RNA-seq dataset GEO using GEO2R and download the differentially expressed genes. By using a dataset, attendees to this session will learn:
- How to find a dataset on GEO using the advance search feature
- How to define the comparison groups, add samples, and modify the analysis parameters
- How to run DESeq2 from GEO
- How to filter and download the results.
