In this 30-minute training, we’ll try OpenAlex, a new free bibliographic database. Afterwards, you’ll be able to:
- Pick between Google Scholar and OpenAlex for different information needs, based on features like filters, results export, and citation networks
- Use special features of OpenAlex, including Topics and Citation Percentile Rank
In this training, we won’t discuss the OpenAlex API. However, OpenAlex Web and OpenAlex API share the same data structure, so would-be API users will benefit from this training.
