Your Poster Can Live Forever: How to Deposit Research Outputs in Repositories Online

Have you ever wanted to share a poster you made with colleagues well after the main presentation event? Or have you struggled to locate a poster file from a year or two ago – or tried to ask a co-author for the file, but they can't find it?

Solve these issues by putting your poster in an online repository! Research outputs such as posters can be deposited into online repositories much like data and code can be. Doing so enables sharing, preservation, and even citation. Come learn how to make your poster (or some other research output) "live forever" by placing it in a repository. This short session will:

  • Review the benefits of placing research outputs like posters, data, and code in repositories
  • Demonstrate the basics of how to make a deposit in a repository
  • Showcase potential repositories to use and show examples of posters in these repos
