Cleaning Messy Data Using OpenRefine In-Person / Online

Do you have messy data that needs some TLC before you can do any analysis? Once you have the dataset you will be working with, you need to clean it up before running it through statistical software such as R. OpenRefine is most useful where you have data in a simple tabular format such as a spreadsheet, a comma separated values file (csv) or a tab delimited file (tsv) but with internal inconsistencies either in data formats, or where data appears, or in terminology used. 

Workshop attendees will learn how to resolve inconstancies in their data, combine datasets, and sort data.
