Intro to Cloud-based Computation Using Google Earth Engine

Intro to Cloud-based Computation Using Google Earth Engine In-Person

Overview:

This workshop is an overview of cloud-based geospatial analysis using Google Earth Engine (GEE). We will introduce the data types and visualizations in comparison with their counterparts in classic GIS software, e.g., ArcGIS desktop, QGIS, etc. The fundamental analytical functions for vector and raster will be demoed in a Javascript API. In addition, we will discuss several unique methods in GEE for data cleaning and aggregation. The final part of the workshop will be focused on advanced processing of satellite imagery, including terrain models, simple algorithms in computer vision, and machine learning.

Software Used: Google Earth Engine
