How to Find Scholarly Articles

How to Find Scholarly Articles Online

Are you ready to find articles thoroughly and efficiently - without relying on Google Scholar while also avoiding pesky pay-walls?

In 30-minutes, learn strategies to find the best possible scholarly sources from Yale Library's databases, including Quicksearch Articles+ and subject-specific databases.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • navigate Quicksearch to find scholarly articles
  • locate Yale’s subscription databases (think: JSTOR and ScienceDirect)
  • use Advanced Search features to improve search results
  • broaden and narrow search results using operators AND, OR, and NOT

Audience: Undergraduate students. Graduate students are also welcome.

Students interested in this workshop might also be interested in “First Steps with Zotero” and “Reading Strategies for Writing Papers.” For individual support, reach out to your Personal Librarian or Subject Specialist Librarian.

Any student who attends at least 3 library workshops during the spring 2023 semester will be eligible to receive a Yale Library tote bag! Learn more about the Workshop Incentive Program.
