Intro to Bookbinding with Jesse Marsolais
Location: Sterling Memorial Library Room 177
Instructor: Jesse Marsolais, Head Printer, Jonathan Edwards College Press
After taking this hands-on workshop, students will understand basic bookbinding techniques. The first half of the workshop will focus on the pamphlet stitch, the primary building block of the traditional codex. Students will gain practical skills in assembling single signatures for binding with needle and thread. The second half of the workshop will be devoted to the accordion-fold structure, which allows for greater flexibility in design and presentation.
