The Gates Classroom and Marx Mezzanine Consultation Room are available on a limited basis for use by YUL and Yale colleagues who are not part of the Manuscripts and Archives (MSSA) Department. Solstice wireless laptop display is available in both rooms; laptops are not provided.There are no projectors in either room. These rooms are not available for scheduling routine group meetings (e.g., weekly, bi-weekly, monthly).
- The Gates Classroom has a capacity of 20 and is prioritized for class sessions that engage special collections materials. It may also be used occasionally for other events and meetings. No food or drink is permitted in the Gates Classroom during class sessions, meetings, or events held there.
- The Marx Consultation Room has a capacity of 12 and is primarily intended for reference consultations with researchers regarding MSSA collections. It may be reserved for small meetings not involving MSSA staff and researchers. Please note that this room is not ADA-accessible, and is accessed by a staircase from the Cowles Reference Center. It is available for use by those outside of MSSA only during times when the MSSA reading room and Cowles Reference Center are open to the public.
