SciFinder Update/Training Seminar In-Person

SciFinder provides researchers with access to chemistry and related science information. You can search for substances, reactions, and patent and journal references. Workshop attendees can expect to learn about key features and recent enhancements in SciFinder functionality pertaining to scenarios such as:

  • How do I word my research topic search to ensure SciFinder finds the best results?
    • We will show you how using natural language phrases helps SciFinder broaden your search automatically, and how you can use the filter options to narrow down relevant results.
    • We’ll show you how to quickly select the most relevant papers based on focused topics using the Categorize feature, taking advantage of Intellectual Indexing.

  • How do I track citations or activity around a research topic or even a substance?
    • Let us show you how Keep Me Posted Alerts immediately inform you when publications are released.

  • How do I share and export information out of SciFinder?
    • We’ll show you how to link answer sets to colleagues and export relevant information out of SciFinder for reporting purposes

  • Need to quickly pull out an Experimental Procedures for a project?
    • We’ll show you how to access full-text experimental procedures from SciFinder to save time
       
  • How do I find chemical structures and reactions?
    • We’ll provide tricks and tips to improve structure and reaction searching
