Researcher Profiles: Make Your Scholarship Seen In-Person
As a researcher, you have many choices for research profiles. ORCID is rapidly becoming a standard identifier to differentiate you from other researchers with similar names. Beyond that, Mendeley, Academia.edu, ResearchGate, SelectedWorks, and other systems promise to increase the visibility of your research to Google searchers, be they fellow academics in search of collaborators or the interested public.
This workshop will be helpful to anyone who is developing their researcher web presence. We will cover the advantages and disadvantages of various profile systems, their implications for locating your work, and the copyright pitfalls that you need to be aware of when sharing your articles (and portfolio of work) online.
