Intro to Programming with Python In-Person

The best way to learn how to program is to do something useful, so this introduction to Python is built around a common research task: data analysis.

This hands-on workshop will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design and task automation in Python. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.

Location: Center for Teaching & Learning, 118A, 301 York St

Requirements: Participants must bring a laptop with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on. They should have a few specific software packages installed (listed here).
