Intermediate GIS: QGIS In-Person

This workshop builds upon the "Intro to GIS: QGIS" workshop and will include a survey of tools for spatial analysis.

This includes use of the QGIS software suite to manipulate, analyze, and visualize data. As time allows, specific topics to be covered include: vector-based spatial analysis, vector geometry operations (centroids, triangulation), manipulation of attribute tables (join, field calculator), and raster analysis (neighborhood and zonal statistics, terrain and distance functions, interpolation, and map algebra). In addition, this workshop introduces the use of the print composer to produce and export finished maps, a tour of some interesting QGIS plugins, and briefly demonstrates QGIS's integration with Python and R.

Participants should have some familiarity with GIS and QGIS (possibly from the "Intro to GIS: QGIS" workshop) or be experienced users of ArcMap without any experience in QGIS. Participants do not need to have any Python or R experience.
