Intro to GIS: ArcGIS In-Person
This workshop will introduce basic concepts of geographic information systems (GIS).
This includes projection and coordinate systems as well as types of and best practices to manage spatial data. It also includes hands-on training on how to start a GIS project using Esri’s ArcGIS for Desktop, transforming tabular into spatial data, creating color-coded maps, and conducting basic spatial analysis to help you start with your research.
Participants should have basic familiarity with file and folder management in a Windows environment. No previous experience with GIS or ArcGIS is required.
